Sound The Trumpets…..For the Feast Of The Lord!

Feasts of the Lord

There are seven ………..” Feasts of the Lord “,

Unleavened Bread,

First Fruits,

Day Of Atonement,

The Bible tells us that,  these Feasts are “shadows of things to come”

They are like  prophetic ceremonies, and dress rehearsels.

The place in the Bible where they are best introduced and explained is

Leviticus 23 .  ( the entire chapter ).

Some may say ” well that’s old testament ” , so were the 10 commandments,

so are the Psalms, Proverbs,………so is Jesus.

I had a friend who once said, to read the New Testament, and discard the Old,

is like reading a 12 chapter novel and starting at chapter 7.

You may enjoy some of what your reading but you’re lost as far as the story goes!

My family and I have observed these Feast days, Holidays, “Holy Days”, because

I see how God commanded the Jewish people to do so “…forever in your generations…”

Forever… me means……never cease, never stop, … observing these.

Jesus, my example and teacher,  honored and observed them.

I see in Isaiah’s prophesies, as well as Zechariah prophesies,

that we will continue to observe them even during

the time Jesus rules and reigns on planet earth.  Zechariah 14:16-19Zechariah 14:16-19

16 It will happen that everyone who is left of all the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, Yahweh of Armies, and to keep the feast of tents. 17 It will be, that whoever of all the families of the earth doesn’t go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, Yahweh of Armies, on them there will be no rain. 18 If the family of Egypt doesn’t go up, and doesn’t come, neither will it rain on them. This will be the plague with which Yahweh will strike the nations that don’t go up to keep the feast of tents. 19 This will be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations that don’t go up to keep the feast of tents.

This my conviction,….. if it pleases God that I observe them,… then I want to do so!

We have covered the first 4 Feasts in the previous writing.

Let me give some consideration to the last 3 Feasts in this writing!

Again, I am giving a quick overview of information, there  are 1000’s

of things to say, but I will try to be brief.

In the seventh month on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest,

a memorial blowing of Trumpets, a holy convocation……Leviticus 23:24Leviticus 23:24

24 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, shall be a solemn rest to you, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.

The Feast of Trumpets,… now referred to as Rosh Hashanah .

In the original celebration two silver trumpets are blown. They are to call

the people to worship, wake up, be attentive, things are about to happen!

Silver in the Bible represents redemption, or saving of souls. 2 trumpets,

witnesses,  calling for the redeeming of two groups of people, Jews and Gentiles.

It is believed as well that Rosh Hashanah is also the “Head Of the Year”,

anniversary of the earth , ( the earth’s birthday so to say , this year is 5775 )

I think it’s important to learn from the ancient traditions, of an ancient people.

It is believed that on the Feast of Trumpets, Ha Shem will judge all creation,

that the books in Heaven will be opened . The Trumpet blasts declaring the

great final harvest has come.

rapture2 last trumpet

According to the Feast traditions the trumpet is sounded at various times from

the beginning of Trumpets until the Day of Atonement. The first blast is the

wake up call. It is believed people will be in one of 3 conditions when it sounds.

Rosha, Tsidek, or Benoni……..

The ones who are Rosha, have rejected God and are sealed for death,

The ones Tsidek, love God and have been sealed for life,

Those found Benoni, are, “on the fence”, and they have 10 days to decide,

10 days until the next Feast…..The Day of Atonement. ( The last trumpet sounds

at the end of that Feast )  The story of Abraham is often told and the reminder that

God has provided us a lamb and redemption. The Feast of Trumpets declares

All need to repent, The harvest has come, a new year has begun, It’s time

for the final judgement.

yomkippur 1                         Yom-Kippur-5771-sealed1

The 6th feast if the Day Of Atonement…also known today as Yom Kippur.

10 days after the Feast of Trumpets, it is Judgement Day!

The number 10 in the bible has always been a symbol of trial, test, or tribulation.

10 plagues, 10 commandments, etc.

The Day Of Atonement was always the most serious of days.

It was on that day that the High Priest would take to blood of the sacrifice behind

the veil, into the Holy of Holies, and place it on the “Mercy Seat”, and the fate of

the entire nation’s acceptance was set on that day.

In fact every man, woman, and child would fast the entire day, no food or water,

until the High Priest came out from behind the veil.

It was also the day that they took 2 goats representing sin, placed their hands on

the goats heads and placed all the sins and failures of the nation on them, Then cast

lots, one goat was sacrificed the other sent off into the wilderness, as if to..” drive our sins

away”.    This became known as the “scape goat”.

All Fates are decided by the end of …… The Day of Atonement .

Jesus’ parable in Matthew 25:31-46Matthew 25:31-46
English: World English Bible - WEB

31 “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. 32 Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35 for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in; 36 naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? 38 When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’ 40 “The King will answer them, ‘Most assuredly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers The word for “brothers” here may be also correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.”, you did it to me.’ 41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; 43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’ 44 “Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’ 45 “Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most assuredly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’ 46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

I personally believe that the last trumpet sounds on The Day of Atonement, and the

last trump spoke of in 1 Corinthians 15: 51-531 Corinthians 15: 51-53
English: World English Bible - WEB

51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

are the same. Also, Revelations 8:1-2,

just before the last trump sounds the Mystery of God is complete, I also feel this is that

same trump sounding.

Then what?……….5 days later…………Leviticus 23:39Leviticus 23:39

39 “‘So on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruits of the land, you shall keep the feast of Yahweh seven days: on the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest.

The Feast of Tabernacles! The final feast…………

tabernacles 11

8 days long, with a sabbath rest at the beginning and at the end.

Also called the Feast of Booths.

There are many themes and meanings that flow through and from this Feast.

The first being…….GOD WITH US………dwelling among us………….

Feast-of-Tabernacles                                                 feast-of-the-tabernacle-yvette-co

In memory of when God lead Israel through the wilderness, He was a pillar of

fire by night and cloud by day. He lead them and provided for them. They lived

in tents/temporary dwelling, that could be easily set and tore down.

In those times they had to constantly watch God. When he moved,…..they moved.

As a part of the celebration and tradition of this God Holiday ,… is to build

a booth, temporary dwelling up. Then eat meals with friends and family, and worship

in it during that 8 day time frame. Some even sleep in it.

The booth is called a sukkot or Succoth…………….576_Sukkah_8

There may be some rules in building it but mainly it must be big enough for each

ones own family, made of natural things, one must have an area where the roof is open

so you can see the stars, and keep an eye on God!

Again the over all theme of this Feast is living with God!

The Feast declares 7 things:

It is a feast of Unity,

It is a Feast of Joy,

It is a Feast of Harvest and Ingathering,

It is a Feast of Rest,

It is a feast of Glory,

It is a Feast of Restoration,

It is a Feast of His appearing and tangable Presence

The Bible speaks of a time when Jesus will rule and reign on the earth, this Feast is

a dress rehearsal of that time.

It is also interesting to note that Jesus was called Immanuel which means:

God with us! The very theme of the Feast Of Tabernacles.

I believe He was born during this Feast. ( Its even possible that the stable

which is often spoken of in the christmas story could of been a succoth/booth.)

tabernacles 2                         1000birthofchrist tabernacles 3

It is very possible also that those pilgrims , who were very much Bible

believers, celebrated this feast, ( originally Thanksgiving was celebrated in October,

fall time frame, )  for many of the foods and traditions are very

similar, but when the government got involved it was taken from it’s Biblical roots.

There is so much more that could be said and explained.

Each year we grow and learn more.

My challenge to all is: If we want to celebrate in the fall of the year, to give

thanks for all God has done and His Blessings why not celebrate the Feasts

of The Lord. In so doing we also declare His coming as King.

I am currently building our Succoth/booth for this year……if you are interested in

coming to join us send me an e-mail for details!

God richly bless you ,
